"Six figures."

That's what Saint Winnipeg owner and founder Scott "Famos" Ramos makes each year as one of Canada's top barbers, describing how successful his business, Saint Winnipeg barber shop, has become. He spoke at Portage Collegiate yesterday with barber Andrew Van who works with him.

Scott "Famos" Ramos"Basically we just kicked some reality into these young adults, to inspire them with our story, and just to be transparent with them and just let them know I still make mistakes daily, but I make better decisions now. And it's led me to success," says Ramos. "And I can say I'm a successful business owner. I just want to inspire them and just to meet everybody."

Ramos shared with the students how he's traveled the world and styled hair for famous rappers and musicians, including Bruno Mars and his crew. He showed slides of the faces of famous musicians he barbered in a hair style on the backs of people's heads. Ramos says it all began with cutting hair in his basement after having failed through High School. His experience includes going top hairstyling school and living in Montreal for a time.

Andrew VanAndrew Van works as a barber at Saint Winnipeg and says he told the students his story about how he didn't get far in high school but saw life work it's way out and has since traveled the world doing his work.

Grade ten student Carson Dueck spoke to us.

Carson Dueck"I really like the work that he does and it's kind of like something I want to do," says Dueck. "My brother he does his own haircuts, so why not try? When I saw his, I thought that kind of looks cool. Just to see this drive that gets you to the place where you want to do it -- you can see how you can start from something low and think you don't have anything, to go where they are. It's pretty cool."

Saint Winnipeg's located at 75 Albert Street, Winnipeg.
