A Treherne man faces charges following an incident with police last week.

On Nov. 6, just after 2 p.m., RCMP were called to a residence on Smith Street in Treherne for a disturbance, a location police say officers were familiar with from previous dealings. While inside, one of the persons allegedly attempted to push an officer outside. Police say the officer told this person that he was now under arrest for assaulting a police officer and the suspect resisted arrest but was soon subdued with the help of a taser and was handcuffed.

The man faces charges of assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
