Portage la Prairie firefighters, RCMP, and EMS were called out just after 6:30 last night, to deal with a semi-truck on fire, north of Oakville.

It was on Highway 430, near Road 68.

A fire department official says the semi was parked on the side of Highway 430, delivering seed to a machine on a nearby field.

The delivery system's arm touched a Hydro line, sending a shock through the vehicle.

The operator controlling the system suffered some numbness in his right arm because of that, and was checked by EMS. The numbness lasted a short time, and he wasn't treated or taken to hospital.

The shock also set the semi's cab on fire. Firefighters had to wait until Manitoba Hydro shut off the power before extinguishing the blaze.

There was also some damage to the trailer.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.
