Update 3:22 p.m.

As a severe storm continues to move east, so do the concerns over possible tornadoes. While a tornado warning was put in place for Norfolk-Treherne and the RM of Victoria including Holland and Cypress River, it has been rescinded.

However, the warning is now in place for Lorne, Winkler, Pilot Mound, Morden, Miami and Deerwood.

Update 2:30

At 2:30pm, Doppler RADAR indicated a severe thunderstorm moving toward Somerset had the potential to produce a tornado. Golf ball to tennis ball sized hail has also fallen in the area around Notre Dame and Cardinal. Toonie size hail was reported by staff at Drummond's Farm Services in Holland.

The thunderstorm is moving southeast at 30 km/h.

 

Update 1:55

A tornado warning has been issued for southwestern Manitoba. According to environment Canada, those in the areas of Holland, Norfolk-Treherne, Pilot Mound, Pembina, Lorne, and Treesbank are advised to be on the lookout for threatening weather. Along with the possibility of a tornado, damaging winds, intense rainfall, and large hail are also possible.

Anyone who witness threatening weather's advised to seek cover to ensure their safety.

 

A severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect for much of the southern Manitoba, and a squall warning was issued around Lake Manitoba.
