The Westpark School's Winter Carnival enjoyed a great turnout in Portage la Prairie yesterday.

Westpark School's Office Manager Arlene Ferguson says they encourage the students to help out at the carnival and are happy to be there.  She says the event brings the community to the school and church with families from the school and community attending the carnival.  She adds the money raised will be used for "Impact", which is similar to Missions the students take part in.

Ferguson says one highlight of the day was a creative hair cutting event.  She says three men who are associated with the school grew their hair out allowed people to cut it any way they wanted to help raise money for the cause.  Ferguson adds she's happy with the response in her first year running the winter carnival.
