The Portage and District Arts Centre is bringing the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra back to Portage once again this year for their annual Christmas performance. PDAC Marketing and Events Coordinator Lee Beaton explains the event has been around for over a decade now and is very popular, typically selling out.

"It's something that everyone really looks forward to. We have groups that come in, and they go out for supper beforehand, and then they have kind of a Christmas party. We have families that get together and this is what they do, they love to come and see the Symphony together. It's a great opportunity for anybody to come and see the Symphony, listen to them. And you don't have to drive to Winnipeg [since] they're right here, in Portage. It's going to be another phenomenal event."

Beaton describes what those who attend can look forward to.

"It's really incredible to see the Symphony on stage, and then they have a couple of guest performers. So there's going to be some regular symphony tunes and some Christmas music and there's some sing-alongs. It's kind of interactive."

The performance will take place Wednesday, December 14th at 7:30 but doors open at 7:00. General admission is $45, $40 for PDAC members and $25 for students.

Christianson TDS is sponsoring the event.
