30 youth from across Manitoba in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program were able to experience the dream Friday with a sleepover at Investors Group Field and activities with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Liam BencharskiLiam Bencharski was one of the four Portage la Prairie youth who participated in the Dream Big Experience and he shares some of the activities they did.

"We got to do activities, like football, with the Blue Bombers and we got to interact with the Blue Bombers, get signatures. We got merchandise and it was just all-out fun."

The kids received personal Blue Bombers jerseys and other Bombers themed merchandise. In addition to the activities with the Blue Bombers, the kids were also treated to a pizza party and a movie night on the video boards.

Bencharski shares his favourite part of the experience,

"My favourite part was interacting with them (the Bombers) and, like, passing the football. All that sort of stuff."

This was the fourth annual Dream Big Experience with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Dufresne Furniture & Appliances, who provided the beds for the sleepover. In a press release Kraig Hickel, Vice President of Dufresne Furniture & Appliances, notes they were honoured to do so.

"We're so honoured to partner with community members like the Bombers to provide this once in a lifetime opportunity to these 30 amazing kids. Our hope is this event will inspire them to dream big and reach towards their full potential as they benefit from a better night's sleep in their brand new beds."

After the sleepover, the kids were able to take home their brand new beds.
