With just over one week left for packing Christmas hampers, the Salvation Army in Portage la Prairie is well over half way there. Captain BJ Loder explains they have just under 300 hampers to fill this Christmas season, and Portagers have been very generous. He notes the Jingle Bell Breakfast and Parade of Lights brought in a considerable amount of donations.
Loder encourages the community to keep giving, explaining there are a lot of people in need. He adds cranberry sauce, cold cereal, canned meat and toys are things they would like to see. Loder extends his thanks to the community, adding with their support he has no worries about meeting Portage's needs.
