Linda Marjorie Oswald (nee Wutke) age 73 years and 5 months passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 27th, 2024, at the Neepawa Health Centre.

Linda was born on August 13th, 1950, in Gladstone, Manitoba to parents Walter and Lydia Wutke. Linda was received as a child of God in Holy Baptism on September 10th, 1950, at the Zion Lutheran Church in the Tupper district. She was confirmed in this faith on November 14, 1965, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Plumas, Manitoba.

Linda attended Maitland School and Plumas School and later attended Marvel Hairdressing School in Winnipeg, completing her hairstylist course in 1968. Linda had made very close friends at Marvel Hairdressing School and still remained in contact with these friends to this day. After she received her diploma in hairdressing, she gained employment in Neepawa as a hairstylist. After working a year in Neepawa, Manitoba, she became self-employed as a hairdresser in Plumas, Manitoba setting up her shop in the home of Francis Kirkland. Later on in years, she moved her business to her house and also did home visits to her many clients.

On August 23rd, 1969, Linda married Garry Oswald of Tenby in the Zion Lutheran Church in Plumas, Manitoba. Linda and Garry were blessed with 3 children: Laura, Brent and Colleen. Linda and Garry farmed in the Tenby area and in 1976 Linda and Garry built a new home and yard site south of Glenella where they worked alongside each other for 54 years.

Throughout her life, Linda had a multitude of jobs from hairdressing, being Garry’s right-hand man on the farm working in the field, and her favorite job of all, babysitting her grandchildren. Linda and Garry were always side by side. They loved visiting and socializing and having company over. They enjoyed going for drives. They loved watching their kids and grandchildren play sports and spent many hours at rinks.

Linda loved to be busy and worked hard all of her life. She was always in the kitchen canning, cooking, and baking. She was an amazing cook, and always had tasty desserts ready to serve at every family gathering. Linda enjoyed visitors and you could guarantee there would be a big lunch before leaving. In the summertime, she would spend hours tending to her large garden and big, beautiful flower beds which were her pride and joy. In the wintertime, Linda loved passing the time doing word search puzzles, watching curling and hockey. She was an avid Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Jennifer Jones fan.

Mom was the caregiver and heart of the family. If a family member had an ailment, she would put them first and foremost. She put everyone above herself, even when she was ill. Mom had the patience of the world. Though she was tiny in size her strength and willpower persevered.

As each day goes by, we miss you even more and realize that our lives will never be the same. We are extremely blessed to have had you as our wife, mom and grandma for all of these years. Your memories will forever live in our hearts, and we will continue to share these with our families as part of you will always live in us.

Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years Garry Oswald and their children Laura Miller (Brent), Brent Oswald (Jodi) and Colleen Nault (Troy). She is survived by 7 grandchildren Kelsey Miller (Shane), Hallie Miller, Braeden Miller (Summer), Gracen Wiebe, Sawyer Wiebe, Skyler Nault and Kinley Nault. She is also survived by 4 nephews, David, Ken, Randy, and Terry Dayholos, and 1 niece who was also her godchild, Debbie Fedorchuk, and their families.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Walter and Lydia Wutke, father-in- law and mother-in-law, John and Elsie Oswald, sister-in-law Verna Scott, brothers-in-law John Dayholos and Vernon Scott and also, godchild Shawn Mitchler.
