Earlier today, a cheque for $1163 was presented to Foundation Administrator at Child and Family Services of Central Manitoba Foundation, Nancy Funk. The money came from a fundraising barbeque held by the Portage Telus outlet last month. The beneficiary of the fundraiser, is "Aaron's Chance 2 Play", an organization that helps kids who might not otherwise have a chance to play, get into organized sports. Portage Telus' store manager, Sean Souva, explains Telus is a company that like's to give back.

"All charities are important to us," says Souva. "But kids getting a chance to play in this town is always a good thing. I grew up and I always had help with playing a lot of sports. I was a sports active kid. So, it's always good to give back to another kid, or kids in plural to have a chance to play sports and do fun things"

Souva also says this may have been the first fundraiser the Portage Telus outlet has organized, but definitely won't be the last. They're aiming to hold multiple fundraisers per year, to help give back to the community.
