SLOW DOWN: Reminder issued to motorists to watch for children in school zones

Portage la Prairie School Division Superintendent Todd Cuddington administered a reminder to the public regarding safety.

Cuddington stated at Tuesday's school board meeting that with nicer weather in Portage la Prairie, motorists should be on the lookout for children in school zones.

"We want to just advise that when people are travelling in school zones, they reduce their speeds and keep an eye out for kids."

Superintendent Cuddington notes that Portage school zones are in effect 24/7, 365 days a year.

"Kids are outdoors now more than they have been all winter, so please just be mindful of students on the street as they make their way to and from school."
