Two members of the Bantam AAA boys Central Plains Capitals were named to one of the league's All-Star teams earlier this month.

Team captain Alex Van Deynze and defenceman Colin Wilson both represented the Caps as All-Stars and played on 'Team Army'.

Van Deynze says he was really happy to be selected. He notes it was an honour to represent the Capitals on such a big stage and it's something he'll remember for a very long time.

The Caps have had an extremely tough year so far as they have yet to win a single game, however, Van Deynze has still been trying to look on the bright side and says he still gives his all every single shift no matter what the score is.

He has put up a team-high 22 points(14G, 8A) in 29 games this season and Wilson, on the other hand, has totalled 4 points in 15 games played.

Van Deynze talks about his favourite parts of the event.

"It was a great experience being able to play with a lot of great players," says Van Deynze. "I got to play with and against guys that I played spring hockey with a few years back and it was good to be on the same team with some guys I usually play against. Like with any sport I play, it is nice to get different coaches' feedback on how I can improve my game."

Wilson and Van Deynze will now look to help the Capitals finish out the season as strong as possible with their next game coming Sunday, February 2nd against the Parkland Rangers.
