A new non-profit organization is being created at Sandy Bay First Nation to help families in need get some great recreation.

No Mucking Around Inc. co-chair Marlon Beaulieu says it's happening tonight from 4:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Valleyview's tubing facility west of Portage.

Marlon Beaulieu"We have it open for all members of Sandy Bay First Nation," says Beaulieu. "So, low-income families, we're bussing them in. We're paying everybody's admission and we're going to feed them as well. It's funded through our non-profit organization called No Mucking Around Inc. And we raise money by doing things we love. We love racing, mud racing and dirt racing."

He notes it's the first effort the organization has funded through proceeds of their races, and it's all done to help families out.

Beaulieu outlines how they raised money through the races.

"Through sponsors and through gate admissions and concessions, entries for the races, that's how we made our money," adds Beaulieu. "The races took place at Sandy Bay First Nation. So, we had racers come from as far as north of Edmonton. One of the racers was known as the fastest guy in western Canada in his division."

Activities include pizza for everyone and hotdogs to cook over fire pits.
