Manitobans travelling far and wide for NHL playoff hockey can expect whiteout conditions, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC.)

ECCC put out a weather statement at 7 a.m.  Sunday playfully warning of localized whiteout conditions in downtown Winnipeg as the province and Jets welcome the Colorado Avalanche to Manitoba for Game 1 of Round 1 in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

It's suggested that anyone taking part in the game, at home, at a restaurant, at a street party, or in person wears white attire for the occasion and in preparation for the matchup.
