Long Plain First Nation finalized their purchase of land from Manitoba Hydro with a signing ceremony today.

On the 135th anniversary of Long Plain First Nations' original treaty signing with Canada another signing ceremony was held.

 

 

Long Plain's purchase of land from Manitoba Hydro has been finalized. Chief Dennis Meeches explains the land will be the home of the First Nations Governance House.

 

 

He thinks long plains has experience with the City of Portage la Prairie that will help them develop this project.

 

Meeches explains a pipe ceremony is custom when signing a treaty and Representatives from all three levels of government took part.
