The Agassiz region re-elected PC MLA Eileen Clarke for another term.

She received a total of 5,562 votes and the next highest candidate received just 942. Clarke talks about how she felt last night.

"It's really nice to see it over but it's also really nice to see the results," says Clarke. "We've had a very intense three years and to be given a mandate personally, to go back and carry on, is amazing. To see our party doing so well is also really exciting."

She adds what she felt gave the PC party such a boost.

"I think our Premier has done an awesome job getting our message out," says Clarke. "When he tells people the platform we're running on and he says 'you can take it to the bank', you can take it to the bank. We did what we intended to in the first three years and it's really nice now that we actually have an opportunity to go back and do some great projects."

Clarke also notes what she is looking forward to most this term.

"I'm most excited about economic development," says Clarke. "Sitting as vice-chair on that committee, to know what the possibilities are going forward and what it will mean to Manitoba, right up to the top of the scale. We know it's possible and now we need to show Manitoba what's been happening and what the possibilities are."
