Blaine Pedersen, the PC candidate for Midland constituency, has been re-elected for the third time.

In 2007, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the former electoral division of Carman. He was elected again in 2011 and 2016 for the reformed Midland riding.

"It's humbling and it's an honour to be elected again as the representative for Midland constituency," he said. "I'll continue to work hard for the constituency and for all Manitobans. It's just a great night."

He described his priorities moving forward.

"We're going to continue to reduce taxes for Manitobans so they have more money on the kitchen table. We'll continue to work to provide better services the government does provide for citizens. On the economic development side, Manitoba is really coming of age ... People around the world are taking notice of Manitoba, investing in Manitoba."

As the minister of growth, enterprise and trade, Pedersen said investments in tourism and agricultural processing have flourished.

Whether he'll continue his role in cabinet, Pedersen said, "we'll wait to see what the premier has in mind for me, and whatever it is I'm more than happy to serve, and feel very privileged to have the trust of the constituents of Midland.
