The Great Canadian Roadshow is in Portage la Prairie and fans have until Friday to take in their prized possessions. Show Manager Shane Pye says they represent a group of collectors and have been in operation for a few years already. Pye notes people bring in all sorts of items like musical instruments, cameras, pocket watches, war memorabilia, sports memorabilia, old bibles, coins, and jewellery. He shares they sit down with one of our experts, who can give them a value on these items, and if people want to they may have the opportunity to sell. Pye's seen many unique things come through notably a thirty year old mammoth tusk, a tiger pelt and stuffed head, old swords, and old Barbie dolls.

He stresses not all things will have value but all things are of interest. The three things they're looking for in terms of value is rarity, condition, and of course collectors items. He says without that you may have something of interest, or rarity, but it may not have a lot of value.

Pye notes they're also huge supporters of the Heart and Stroke so, when they write checks to people and they choose to donate some back, the company matches each dollar for dollar. The show is taking place at the Canad Inns in the Lower level until Friday.
Show times are Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
