Manitoba champions Randy Neufeld, Dean Moxham, Peter Nicholls, and Dale Michie captured bronze at the 2022 Canadian Senior Men’s Curling Championship in Yarmouth this weekend. Neufeld jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two ends en route to a 10-7 victory over Glen MacLeod of Nova Scotia to take third place. The win capped off an almost perfect week for the team that was pretty much uneatable until they lost 4-3 to James Pahl of Alberta in the semifinals. Pahl scored two in the final end to steal the victory, which ended up being the only loss of the week for the Neufeld foursome.

The team stormed through their pool of seven with a perfect 6-0 record to start the week and followed that up with 4 more wins in the championship pool. This put them at 10-0 and they ended the round-robin portion of the event as the only unbeaten team.

As the top seed, they would face 4th place Alberta in the semi-finals which was a must-win game. Despite the tough loss, the team was able to rebound to win the bronze medal game later in the day. Alberta would go on to lose in the final against Ontario, the eventual champions. Despite not winning the event, Manitoba was the only team with a single loss on the week - every other team suffered at least 3 along the way.
