One of the world's most unique vehicles will be making a splash in Portage la Prairie this summer.
Portage residents will have the unique opportunity of riding in a 1966 Amphicar this summer thanks to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba and car owner Jeff Norton. Aqua-car's were produced in Germany in the 1960's and Norton's is one of 500 remaining today.

Norton says after losing his father to Parkinson's Disease, discussions led to the idea of offering rides in exchange for donations. He adds they have a fairly aggressive schedule with approximately 20 stops throughout the province, including Island Park in Portage. Norton says it's quite the experience and if it's not on your bucket list, it probably should be.
