With majority of COVID-19 public health orders being lifted, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Central Plains is excited to spend more time running programs in person as opposed to through computer screens.

Executive director Dawn Froese says while they aren't going to be enforcing mandatory masking, they're allowing volunteers to choose what they're comfortable with. She notes, however, if someone partaking in a program wants the volunteers to wear a mask, they will.

"We're much more relaxed about that now," notes Froese. "What we're really hoping for with the easing of restrictions is that more people will feel comfortable volunteering with us to be a mentor."

She adds they're looking to get the ball rolling with in-person programming in April and May, but are looking for volunteers to help them be as active as they want to be. She explains, if you want to join BBBS, you can schedule a meeting with them.

"All they have to do is give us a call or an email and we will set up a time where we can meet and tell them about all the different options for volunteering that we have," says Froese. "It doesn't commit them, I know some people don't want to attend a meeting because they think they have to do it after."
