Although the Liberal Government is projected to form a minority government in Canada, Portage-Lisgar Conservative incumbent Candice Bergen has won her seat.

Bergen has run in this riding since 2008 and previously captured victories for the party in 2011, 2015 and 2019.

Bergen captured around 50 per cent of the vote, while the People's Party candidate Solomon Wiebe was a distant second, garnering approximately 20 per cent.

Last year, Bergen was appointed Deputy Leader of the Opposition by Conservative leader Erin O'Toole.

Advance polling in the Portage-Lisgar region soared to129 per cent compared to 2019. The advance poll numbers for the riding are at least 13,462 people, as opposed to 5,890 for last election's advanced numbers.

Bergen faced off against People's Party of Canada candidate Solomon Wiebe, Liberal hopeful Andrew Carrier, NDP newcomer Ken Friesien and Jerome Dondo of the CHP.
