If you're affected by Alzheimer's, or care for someone who is this is an opportunity to network with others who have walked a mile in your shoes. Its Alzheimer's awareness month and the Alzheimer's society is putting on an informational presentation on the disease and other dementia's tomorrow. Valerie Emerson, resource co-ordinator for Gladstone Seniors notes there's a stigma surrounding the disease. She explains its those who fear what people think and are affected are the ones who should be seeking help and she hopes this session will help them overcome it.
Presentations will cover dealing with changing behaviour, caring for someone with dementia and self-care. Emerson adds anyone is welcome to attend, and hopes the session helps bring the issue to light so those who need help can access it.
