A childcare centre in the municipality of North Norfolk is becoming a reality, thanks to the generosity of the surrounding area.

On New Year's Eve, a social was held in Austin to raise funds for the new centre. General Board member Devan Woolley says that although it was a smaller crowd, it was a fantastic social.

"We had great prizes, dancing. We had a lot of support from the people that came, and everybody had a lot of fun."

She says that although they have yet to get the final numbers, they are confident it was a huge success. Woolley says it takes a lot of work to put events like this on and to have support from the surrounding community means the world.

"We've been working hard on getting the funds needed for the childcare center, so it was just another event to show its importance in the community."

Although this fundraiser gave them a big boost, they still need to reach their goal. They are having another fundraiser at Austin's Hall, but this time, it is a soup and pie on January 28th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
