The Children's Wish Foundation is expanding.

The foundation recently announced they're amalgamating with Make-A-Wish Foundation. The two organizations will make the switch at the end of the month.

Local Chapter Treasurer and Co-Chair Marion Campbell explains why the foundation is making this move.

"We're combining our two groups to give us more people out there working and helping to raise funds. We're hoping this is going to work, especially now with COVID-19. It's going to help big time."

The group is adopting a new name, and will now be called Make-A-Wish Canada. Campbell explains what the foundation does.

"It's the same people and the same ideas. We're out there raising funds to help kids with life-threatening diseases."

The foundation is a Canada-wide charity, with organizations also in the United States of America. Campbell says the change is good.

"It gives us more people out there working. We'll be able to do a lot more wishes for kids now with us combining. We have an in with the American chapter, so we're going to be able to do a lot more wishes of that type."
