The Delta Waterfowl Foundation hosted its annual fundraising banquet last night in Portage. The organization is dedicated to promoting hunting throughout Canada and North America.

They do this through hosting different events such as a Youth Hunt and a Ladies Hunt -- anything to get more people out enjoying what we have to offer in the Delta area, specifically ducks and space.

Director of Conservation Policy Jim Fisher detailed an exciting announcement for the Youth Hunt.

"We have a Youth Hunt every September when we take 25 kids out on the marsh -- boys and girls age 10-17. This year we had one of our mentors pass away. Now, forever going forward, our Youth Hunt is going to be called the Darwin Reid Memorial Hunt."

Delta Waterfowl is a multi-million dollar non-profit organization that started right here in the Delta Marsh area, and has now grown to over 100 chapters across North America, ranging from Florida to Alaska, and Vancouver to Newfoundland.
