After an 0-2 start to the National Junior A Championship tournament, the Portage Terriers could be in a do-or-die situation today.

The Terriers will face off with the only other 0-2 team at the event, Ontario's Oakville Blades. The winner will more than likely earn a trip to the playoff round while the loser will be in tough to make it out of the round robin. The Dogs were on the ice on Monday, using their off-day practice to go over some breakout plays and some work on the powerplay. In Sunday's loss to Brooks, the Terriers had just one powerplay but scored 33 seconds into it.

Head Coach Blake Spiller was pleased with how his team played against the host Bandits, saying they need that same intensity in this afternoon's game if they want to get past Oakville.

The Terriers bench boss had an eventful Monday as he was also named the winner of the Darcy Haugan/Mark Cross Memorial Award as CJHL Coach Of The Year. It's the third time Spiller has been named Canada's best Junior A coach.

The Terriers and Blades drop the puck this afternoon at 3:00 pm. You can tune in on CFRY for all the action, starting with the Hi-Tec Industries Pre-Game Show at 2:50 pm.
