Morris Candidate John Falk is excited to represent the Liberal Party in the upcoming April 19th Mantioba general election.

Falk says he will be spending a lot of his time getting out into the communities of the Morris constituency and hearing their concerns.

“I am excited, grateful, and humbled to have the opportunity to run in a provincial election, especially one that has been painted blue since 1954, I believe it is. I am very much looking forward to the challenge, I am looking forward to getting out there and listening to people.”

Falk says he has learned a lot in the seven years that he has served Niverville in Municipal Government. He says he is very passionate about small communities and their individual concerns which is why it is so important to listen to the people that live within them.

“Whether it is Niverville, the Morris riding, or a Federal riding, the bottom line is it boils down to listening to the person that is running the business, that is teaching our kids, those are the people that we need to get out and listen to. It is not about control it is about working together.”

Falk says there are common challenges such as Infrastructure and funding that exist in every community, but each individual area also has unique challenges of it's own. He says one of the reasons he is exited to represent the Liberal Party is their focus on municipalities. He notes they plan on taking the 1% PST increase that the NDP government initiated and put it straight in the hands of municipal governments because they know where the money is needed most in their communities.

Falk says he thinks Manitobans are ready for change.

“I think people are open to change, I mean you saw it federally, and I believe Manitoba is ready to give the Manitoba Liberal Party a chance to govern. We are a fiscally responsible government, we are socially responsible and we really are a grassroots party that really believes in ground floor up versus top down politics.”
