Herman Prior Activity Centre helped ring in the warmer months of the year on April 13 as they hosted their Spring Craft Sale.

By their counts, roughly 470 people attended the sale. Executive Director Kathy Bryce says on top of their sellers, they also had a caricature artist come for the day, which was so popular that they'll be returning for their next sale in the fall.

"Oh my goodness, we had macrame crafts, quilting, sewing, handmade soaps, woodworking, jewelry, and card-making crafts. It was a wonderful variety."

With the funds that were raised from the sale, Bryce explains that they're looking to continue upgrading the Centre. While some of the money will go into a general fund to be doled out later, she says office space remains top-of-mind.

"We've hired a third staff member," continues Bryce. "We have myself, we have our Executive Assistant, and we hired an Administrative Assistant. I'll be moving into one of the new offices and the Administrative Assistant will be moving into my old office."

These first adjustments will need to take place sooner rather than later, as their new staff member's first day will be April 22. In closing, Bryce thanks everyone who either sold or purchased anything from this year's Spring Craft Sale.
