The Manitoba Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre is advising that high winds may leave an impact on Lake Winnipeg and the south basin of Lake Manitoba as well as the shorelines near Gimli on the west and Victoria Beach on the east side of Lake Winnipeg.

The winds, which will develop this morning and possibly last until the morning of August 30th, could possibly cause water levels to rise by five feet or more. Winds could reach speeds of 70 km/h.

Residents and property owners from around these areas are advised to take any precautions they can.
