Alright, stop, collaborate and listen, it's going to get icy out there Friday afternoon.

At 12:01 PM, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a freezing drizzle advisory for the Portage la Prairie area.

Freezing drizzle has developed across southern Manitoba this morning ahead of an area of snow approaching from Saskatchewan.

The freezing drizzle may be heavy this afternoon before switching over to snow this evening. Surfaces like highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

ECCC says that freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact and create icy surfaces over time.
