The Portage Islanders were upset at home last night by the Notre Dame Hawks 8-4.

The Hawks came out flying in the first period scoring three goals. The Islanders came back in the second with an early goal by Lane Taylor before the Hawks scored about a minute later to make it 4-1. Portage's Johl Swedlo would make it 4-2 heading into the third.

Swedlo scored a little over a minute into the game to cut the lead to one. The Hawks and Islanders would each trade another goal, before the Hawks had a flurry of offence and scored three more times in about four minutes.

The Islanders next play the Altona Maroons on the road on Saturday at 8 p.m.
