Canadian country artist Jason McCoy made a pit stop in the City of Possibilities this past week. The host of Dauphin Contryfest's Radio Road Tour, as he hosts the event once again.

The day was as perfect as possible, starting with a radio interview with Country93 Morning Show host Ryan Simpson and CFRY Morning Show host Shelby Proznick.

After the interviews, McCoy embarked on a comprehensive tour of Portage la Prairie, exploring our vibrant downtown, the Island, and iconic landmarks to truly experience the essence of our city.

He mentioned seeing the Coke Can and the Island as some of our cities' hidden gems and commented that it was quite a community.

Contest winner Janice Telford and long-time best friend Winnie Walsh met up with the country crew at Boston Pizza for an intimate lunch with McCoy, during which they had the opportunity to ask him any questions they wanted.

Lastly, McCoy went to Portage Collegiate Institute to visit PCI Channel 1, where Grade 12 Student Mckenna Sharpe interviewed him for their YouTube channel.

During the day, weekend passes to Countryfest were given out; listen to CFRY and Country 93 next week, where you can win passes, or click here to buy them now and see this year's lineup. Don't forget that early bird pricing ends on April 30th.

Also, watch for McCoy this summer at Portage's own Potato festival with his band, the Road Hammers.
