Manitoba First Nations Police Services dealt with a couple of assault incidents just over a week ago in Long Plain First Nation.

Inspector Dave Scott says that on April 10, at about 2:00 a.m., Officers responded to a call of a domestic disturbance, where the caller indicated that she had been assaulted.

Members attended and arrested a 40-year-old man of Long Plain First Nation. He has been charged with: Fail to Comply with an Undertaking, and Assault. The suspect was released on conditions with a court date.

Scott says that on the 13th, they then received a complaint from Long Plain First Nation Security Officers that an intoxicated male had approached them with a baseball bat and uttered threats. The suspect further vandalized the gas pumps at the Long Plain First Nation Gas Bar. A short time later, Officers were called back and the Long Plain First Nation Security advised the male was in custody. Officers attended, and the suspect was arrested and lodged and charged with Mischief Under $5000 and Assault with a Weapon. The suspect was remanded into custody.
