Earlier today, the annual MNP Chili Challenge went on at the Herman Prior Centre. Businesses across Portage la Prairie enter their chili into the challenge, and then people vote for their favourite. Diane Robertson is the coordinator of the challenge and says choosing Central Plains Cancer Services as this years charity was easy.

"This year we chose that because a staff member brought it forward," says Robertson. "Her husband has cancer and their kinds are using the Kids Can Cope program that Central Plains Cancer Services offers. We had a team member pass away this past year, so when she brought that name forward, it was an automatic."

This was the 15th annual Chili Challenge, which raises about 3 thousand dollars for their charity every year.
