Mr. Sabapathy Sinnamuthan, aged 78 years went to be with the Lord peacefully on the 13th of June 2022 at his residence in Portage La Prairie, Canada.

Mr. Sabapathy was born on the 6th of December 1943 to Late Mr. Palani Sinnamuthan and Mrs. Vembai in Kandy District, Srilanka.

Mr. Sabapathy worked hard at school and completed his HSC. He later joined the Indian High Commission office based in Kandy and worked there from 1970 to 1981.

Mr. Sabapathy married Mrs. Theivanay Sabapathy on the 17th of November 1972. They welcomed their children Srikesavan Sabapathy and Nalaini Ramachandran.

Mr. Sabapathy went on to work in several other organizations in Srilanka and India mostly as an accountant and retired in 2014.

Mr. Sabapathy moved permanently to Portage La Prairie, Canada in May 2022 along with his wife Mrs. Theivanay to live close to their daughter, Nalaini and her family. Right before his passing he was able to spend quality time with both his son and daughter and his three grandchildren.

Mr. Sabapathy gave immense value to education and went out of the way to send his children to the best schools in Kandy. During his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and reading. Mr. Sabapathy lived a simple life by prioritizing the needs of his children and had a content life till he passed away. His faith and belief with God reflected in his daily prayer life.

Surviving family

Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife Mrs.Theivanay of 49 years, daughter Nalaini (Ramachandran), grandchildren Yuvan and Jessica, Son Srikesavan (Cynthia) and grandson Andrew Samuel Srikesavan. 

Mr. Sabapathy is also survived by his two brothers Mr. P.S. Shanmugananthan and family (Srilanka) and Mr. P.S. Ramanathan and family (India). He was also close to several extended family members, especially Mr. Rajan and family. 

Mr. Sabapathy was predeceased by his elder brother Mr Rengaswamy (India).

Burial will take place on Friday, July 8th at 10;00 am at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Portage la Prairie, MB.

Remembrance Service will take place on Friday, July the 8th, at the Portage Evangelical Church, 72 3rd St. N.E., Portage la Prairie, MB at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend.
