Police continue to investigate an incident that saw a train collide with a stalled truck.

Portage RCMP were notified around 4:30 p.m., July 23 of the collision on Road 70 West, a little north of Highway #1. Officers learned that the driver of the truck was crossing the rail crossing slowly when the truck stalled. Police say the driver spent nearly 10 minutes trying to free his vehicle, and attempted to push it off the rail crossing, but it wouldn't budge. The man could only watch from a safe distance away as the approaching train tried to stop before striking the truck.

The impact of the train caused the truck to flip and land on its roof a short distance away. Police say no one from the train or the vehicle were injured in this incident.
