It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paulette Leslie on November 27th, 2023 at the age of 69 after a lengthy battle with MS and COPD.

Paulette was predeceased by her sister Jocelyn and her dad August Duclos. She is survived by her children Mike (Miranda), Derek, Mandy, and her grandchildren Nick, McKayla, Brianna, Tara Lynn, Ryder, and Drayden. She is also survived by her mother Marie, her sisters Anne, Racheal (Ken), Manita, Mitch (Dave), and brother Daryl, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend Wendy McEachern.

Paulette was born April 9th, 1954 in St. Boniface. She grew up on the farm near Poplar Point. Helping her dad she learned how to drive trucks, tractors, and combines. She worked at MDC as a dietary aid for 20 years and enjoyed her job and made many great friends in that time including Carol Garnham and Carol Reimer. Her door was always open for visitors and a pot of coffee was always on.

She enjoyed listening to Elvis music, cheering on the Pittsburg Penguins (never missing a game), and taking care of her flowers in her yard on her good days. And of course, she was always keeping up with the Young and Restless and what Victor Newman was up to. She loved her kids and grandkids dearly and couldn’t wait to the next time to tease them.

Through her struggles Paulette always kept her sense of humor and courage.  In 2020, she moved into the Douglas Campbell Lodge. She made many friends with both staff and the residents. A big thank you to all the staff at the Douglas Campbell Lodge for their kindness and care of Paulette.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place Thursday, January 18th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stride Place Rotary Multi-purpose Room, Island Park, Portage la Prairie, MB.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Douglas Campbell Lodge, 150 9 St SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3T6, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 100 - 1465 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L8.
