The Portage and District Arts Centre put on two sell out shows yesterday for their annual dance recital. PDAC Executive Director Lori Blight outlines the turnout of the event.

"It was fantastic. We had two sell out performances. We had a 2 PM show and a 7 PM show and they both sold out this past week. We were really thrilled to be able to offer such a wonderful opportunity for people to come and see their kids perform."

She notes the recital showcases a wide variety of dance genres.

"We do have a wide range of genre of dancing that we offer the Arts Centre. We work with X-Company and they provide us with dance instructors who teach jazz, contemporary, creative movement, we also have our hip-hop instructor. We also have ballet, cheerleading and Ukrainian dance. "

Blight says they are always pleased to see so many students take part in their dance programs.

"We have about 230 students who have dances in the programs this year and most of them danced in both shows. A lot of kids go through our programs and really enjoy it."
