Portage la Prairie RCMP are asking for your help in locating a woman who endangered herself last night. Here's constable Larry Neufeld.

"An Aboriginal female in the 500-block of 11th Street NW was yelling and seemed to be crying," explains Neufeld. "She was not dressed for the weather, not having any outdoor clothing on at all. The people were concerned and made calls in to us."

He notes police went to the scene almost immediately, and each time they spoke with residents who saw her, she had just gone by only moments before. Due to blowing snow, strong winds and low temperature, her safety was their concern.

A police dog was brought in, but due to the blowing snow, no real tracks could be followed and the strong winds didn't provide any help to the dog. Several door knocks were made in the area, and police are currently concerned for her safety.

Neufeld says if you have information regarding the identity of the woman, please call the RCMP detachment at 857-4445.
