Portage la Prairie RCMP officers are looking for information regarding a suspect involved in a hit-and-run Thursday evening.

It all started when officers responded to a call at 8:15 p.m. Thursday of a motor vehicle driving through the airport gate at Southport and doing donuts on the tarmac.

According to an RCMP spokesperson, the vehicle then sped away from the scene.

Moments later, the vehicle was involved in a collision near the River Road Co-op Gas Bar. No injuries were reported from the crash.

Police say that the truck collided with a car and then pulled into the Co-op parking lot, where the suspect attempted to steal a number of other vehicles that were parked. He was unsuccessful in his theft attempts and fled the scene on foot. The suspect was not located by police.

The RCMP urges anyone with information on the suspect or the incident to contact them immediately - 204 -857-4445 -
