Portage la Prairie RCMP arrested a Portage teenager after he was found with a firearm in the city.
An officer was on Spruce Bay on May 28th, just before 5 p.m. They saw a male walking on 6th Avenue NE with what looked like a weapon in his waistband. When approached, the officer could see the grip of a firearm. The youth was told he was under arrest and was cooperative with the officer. It was learned the boy had a pellet pistol.
The 16-year-old has been charged with Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Carry Concealed Weapon. The youth appeared in court the next day.
