With upgrades to the section between Highway 6 and Highway 248, as well as construction of a road toward the Topigs Norsvin Hog Research Facility, Road 82 North in the RM of Woodlands has seen a lot of work in recent years. However, it's not in the clear just yet.

"Along the way, we experienced a lot of frost boil trouble," explains Woodlands Reeve Trevor King. "It's a very heavy-traffic road so we feel it's very important to upgrade the parts that are deteriorating."

He says they are hoping to receive a road improvement grant form the province, adding they've hired an engineer to prepare the specs so they may put out a request for proposals from contractors. He says despite the construction season getting away on them, these repairs are a priority for the RM and they'd like to see them done this year.
