Simplot Central Park faces vandalism

The play structure at Simplot Central Park has been part of some malicious mischief as the structure has been spray-painted with graffiti.

This is the second time since the spring that the park has faced some kind of vandalism, with glass being splattered all over the splash pad just beside the play structure in May.

Rachel Templeton of the Portage la Prairie Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC) says that the PCRC is aware of this incident and has a crew picking up supplies to clean up the situation. Templeton notes that the PCRC will also reach out to the City of Portage in hopes of applying for better nighttime lighting at the park.

They hope that the clean-up will be done by the end of the day.

UPDATE:

The PCRC says their clean-up crew was able to get most of the graffiti cleaned from Simplot Central Park this afternoon.
