The City of Portage la Prairie's snow-clearing crews are out and about making roads more bare for you to drive on.

"We started up yesterday once we saw it was going to continue snowing," says Brian Taylor, public works manager. "We went into our priority routes. We should have those cleared up today. Then we're going into our residential route the day after garbage day. We'll see how everything looks. It's pretty light snow. It can either blow away or pack down pretty hard. We'll try to get everything cleared up en-route."

He asks you to remember to keep your vehicles off the sides of the road the day after garbage day when they plough your neighbourhood following a snowfall. Taylor adds this way you can help them do a cleaner job for our streets.
