Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers (MPSG) is offering an update on this year's crops.

Serena Klippenstein is a production specialist with the organization.

"Most soybean crops across Manitoba are at or approaching R6. Premature drying of soybeans is occurring in many regions, though some regions have been hit harder than others. Soybeans in dry or sandy regions are showing patches of dry down or colour change and are progressing towards leaf drop, while soybeans in regions with more moisture are still trying to fill pods."

Klippenstein notes dry beans are drying down with some desiccation occurring.

Field pea harvest is underway in most areas, with variable yields depending on crop moisture.

Faba beans are approaching the R8 stage.

Grasshoppers are still present in the low to moderate range in most fields.
