The Dauphin Kings are the final team to move on in the first round of the MJHL playoffs. The Kings defeated Swan Valley 3-2 in double overtime last night and won the best of seven series four games to two. The Kings join Virden, Steinbach and Winkler in the semi-finals.

The Warren Mercs of the SEMHL are this years Manitoba Senior A Provincial Champions. The Mercs defeated Boissevain 7-6 last night in Brandon. It was the first loss of the year for the Border Kings.

In the MMJHL, St. James defeated Pembina Valley 5-4 to open the best of seven league final. Tyler Van Deynze of Portage scored his fourth of the playoffs in a losing effort.

The Winnipeg Ice have clinched first place in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference. Cole Muir and Chase Wheatcroft scored two goals each as Winnipeg defeated the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-1 Saturday and 8-2 Sunday. 

The Manitoba Moose have clinched a spot in the Calder Cup playoffs. Manitoba fell 2-1 in overtime to the Chicago Wolves Saturday but the single point for the OT loss qualified the Moose for the American Hockey League post-season for the 16th time in franchise history.

Brad Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker picked up Silver at the 2022 World Men’s Curling Championship in Las Vegas. The four-time Canadian champions lost to Niklas Edin of Sweden in the gold medal game which came down to the second last shot.

The Toronto Blue Jays have started the new MLB season with a 2-1 record. After beating Texas twice to open things up, the Jays lost to the Rangers 12-6 yesterday.  The Jays open a set against the New York Yankees today.

The World's number one ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler is the Masters champion. He finished three strokes ahead of Rory McIlroy to win his first career major on Sunday.

And the NBA regular season is in the books. Toronto finished 5th in the Eastern Conference with a 48 and 34 record. The Raptors lost their final game of the season to New York yesterday.
