April is here, and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) Meteorologist Stephen Berg broke down what things will look like for Portage la Prairie for the coming work week.

Berg says there is a chance of showers and flurries Monday night as a frontal system enters the area. He notes that temperatures will be normal for this time of year until Wednesday, with a ridge building over Southern Manitoba by the midweek point.

"We should see some temperatures into the (plus) double digits approaching the low to mid-teens by Thursday. Friday, overnight lows will still be possibly below 0, but yeah, the daytime high temperatures will be a few degrees above normal."

Berg adds that this ridge is characterized by sunny skies and clear nights.

"It should be pretty clear and with some warm air coming in from the Southwest."
