Suspects were caught in the act during a theft in the 2200 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West on November 18th at 7:20 p.m. in Portage la Prairie. 

RCMP arrested two people. A 37-year-old man from Sandy Bay First Nation faces charges of Theft Under $5000 and was released to appear in court at a later date. They also arrested a 30-year-old woman from Portage who faces charges of Theft Under $5000 but was remanded into custody as she has outstanding charges before the courts.

Two days later, on the 20th, the report of an intoxicated man came into the Amaranth RCMP detachment at 2:29 p.m. 

The suspect was causing a disturbance and kicked in a door at a residence in Langruth. The man fled and police were given his name. He was found at another address in Langruth and was arrested without incident. The 31-year-old man from Long Plain First Nation faces charges of Break and Enter, Assault and Mischief Under $5000.00. 

The suspect was released when sober to appear in court at a later date. No one was injured in the assault.
