In the MJHL, Winkler got by Steinbach 3-2 in overtime. Neepawa and Selkirk went into O-T as well, with the Natives winning 4-3.

Tonight, Portage Terriers travel to Steinbach, and Assistant Coach Paul Harland knows the Pistons play a fast game, and also utilize the smaller ice surface to their advantage.

"For us, it's more of making sure that we're coming with a good pace," he says, "It's a smaller rink, so we've got to make sure that we're getting as many pucks on net as we can, because there are lots of chances to shoot the puck from good scoring areas, once you get over the blue line."

Harland says a win tonight would help narrow the gap in the standings between his team, and the first-place Pistons.

"If you look at the top eight teams now, it's getting pretty tight," he says, "And anybody can beat anybody on any given night, so it's going to be a battle all the way to the end, and any time you can knock off the team that's ahead of you, it improves your position."

Game time's 7:30, and you'll hear the play-by-play on CFRY and portageonline.com, starting at 7:20, with the pre-game show.
